Tottenham Hotspur kick start the new season with a tricky trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday afternoon. Here is the side we think Mauricio Pochettino will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris is certain to keep his place in goal for the new season.

Defence: Pochettino confirmed a huge injury boost ahead of the game with Jan Vertonghen passed fit after recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained while representing Belgiam at Euro 2016.

Vertonghen is expected to resume his partnership alongside Toby Alderweireld in the middle of defence while Danny Rose and Kyle Walker will be looking to put their England disappointment behind them when they line-up in the full-back positions.

Midfield: Mousa Dembele continues to serve his six-game suspension from last season so summer signing Victor Wanyama is set to make his competitive debut following his move from Southampton.

The Kenyan international will partner Eric Dier in the middle of the park with the likes of Ryan Mason offering options on the bench.

Attack: Dele Alli has served his suspension so should resume his position in the attacking midfield role. Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are expected to keep their places and will continue to support Harry Kane in attack.

Here is how I think we’ll see Spurs line-up:
