Premier League football returns this weekend and Manchester United will kick off their campaign with a tricky trip to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon. 

Jose Mourinho has set his sights on making United champions again after the Red Devils endured another disappointing campaign under former boss Louis van Gaal that saw then finish fifth last season.

The Portuguese coach made a steady start to life at Old Trafford after winning the Community Shield with a 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend but he’ll be desperate to pick up all three points at the Vitality Stadium tomorrow.

Bournemouth won’t make life easy for United though as they will be looking to build upon their 16th placed finish last season following their promotion from the Championship in 2014.

United will be without world record signing Paul Pogba as the French international has seen a one-match ban carried over from last season with Juventus.

Chris Smalling is also banned after being sent off in the FA Cup final last season so summer signing Eric Bailly is set to make his competitive debut in the Premier League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic should also get his first taste of football in England while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be hoping to get some game time following his move from Borussia Dortmund.

Bournemouth will be without winger Junior Stanislas due to a hernia. Tyrone Mings has recovered from a cruciate ligament injury but isn’t expected to be ready for a return to the first team until September.
