Fabregas Back’s Wilshere And Has Dig At Balotelli

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has jumped to defend his team mate Jack Wilshere amid the disrespectful comments from Manchester City youngster Mario Balotelli.  Days ago Balotelli won the ‘Golden Boy’ award and took the opportunity to claim he didn’t know who runner-up Jack Wilshere was:

“What’s his name? Wil…? No, I just don’t know him, but the next time I play against Arsenal I’ll try to be careful,” said the Italy international.

“Maybe I could show him the Golden Boy trophy and remind him that I won.

“For 2011 I want the Premier League – to continue the tradition with Inter that saw me win the last three championships – and the Europa League, a trophy I’m yet to win and that surely we are favourites for.”

However, Jack showed true class with his response via social networking site Twitter, saying:

“Would just like to say how honoured I am to have got 2nd place in the ‘golden boy’! And like to thank everyone who voted for me!

“And would like to congratulate Mario Balotelli on winning it, even if he doesn’t know who I am! He is a top player!”

Now Fabregas has had his say, again via Twitter, supporting his team mate and also aiming a cheeky dig at the arrogant balotelli:

“Don’t worry [Jack], we know who you are and that’s what matters most. You play week in, week out and that’s the most important [thing], trust me!”

Spot on Cesc! It’s good to see Arsenal players supporting one-another, even if it is via Twitter!!! But that mug Balotelli has set himself up for a huge fall with his ridiculous comments. Has he forgotten that Arsenal have already beaten his City side 3-0 on their own patch and they come to the Emirates on Jan 5th? What better time for Jackie-boy to show him exactly who he is!
