Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from consecutive Premier League defeats when they take on Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given Chelseafc.com a team news and injury update.

Unfortunately Conte has confirmed reports that John Terry has once again been ruled out as the skipper continues to recover from an ankle injury that he sustained during the closing stages of Chelsea’s draw at Swansea earlier this month.

Terry was sorely missed during the recent defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal – which saw some poor defending by the Blues – and he had hoped to make his comeback for the trip to Hull this weekend.

However, Conte has confirmed the 34-year-old is still not ready to make his comeback amid reports Terry suffered a minor setback in training but the defender should be available again after the upcoming international break.

The Blues boss is quoted as saying by the clubs website:

‘He’s not available because he’s not recovered from his ankle injury, I think we will see him after the international break.’

The news will be a huge blow to Chelsea as Terry has been sorely missed over the past three matches and Conte is now going to have to choose between the out-of-form Gary Cahill or Branislav Ivanovic to play alongside David Luiz tomorrow.

In a double blow, Conte also told the clubs website that John Obi Mikel has been ruled out of the trip to the KCOM Stadium due to a ‘small muscular problem’ but otherwise the Italian tactician has no other injury concerns.
