Manchester United will be looking to close in on the top four when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Jose Mourinho wil pick for his return to West London:

Goalkeeper: David de Gea is certain to continue between the sticks this weekend.

Defence: Mourinho is expected to make plenty of changes to his side despite winning 4-1 against Fenerbahce last night. Daley Blind should come back in for Luke Shaw at left-back while Antonio Valencia will get a recall with Matteo Darmian dropping out.

Chris Smalling is a minor doubt after picking up a muscle knock in midweek but I expect the centre-back to be passed fit to start alongside Eric Bailly at the back.

Midfield: Ander Herrera is set to come back in after being rested in the Europa League so Michael Carrick will feel unfortunate to miss out after a solid display in his absence.

Paul Pogba was back to his best with a superb strike during the win over Fenerbahce so he’ll keep his place while Mourinho could opt to bring Marouane Fellaini back in to the midfield to do a job similar to the one he did against Liverpool.

Attack: Wayne Rooney was back in the starting eleven last night but I think we might see him dropping back to the bench on Sunday with Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming back in up front and Marcus Rashford moving to the wing.

Juan Mata and Anthony Martial may feel unfortunate to miss out but I think we’ll see Jesse Lingard keep his place in the attack after he scored another excellent strike on Thursday night.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan wasn’t even included in the squad against Fenerbahce, despite being declared available for selection, and Mourinho has hinted the Armenian international needs to work on his fitness before he’ll be picked.

Here is how we think United will line-up:
