Arsenal Told To Pay £60m After Striker Confirms Move Desire

Arsenal have been told they’ll have to fork out £60m in order to sign Alexandre Lacazette after the striker confirmed he wants to leave Lyon this summer

The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Alexandre Lacazette looks set to leave Lyon this summer…

Arsenal have been told they’ll have to fork out £60m in order to sign Alexandre Lacazette after the striker confirmed he wants to leave Lyon at the end of the season, according to the Mirror.

Lacazette has gradually developed in to one of the hottest strikers in European football since joining Lyon in 2010 and it’s led to speculation linking him with a number of big name clubs.

Arsenal were among those to be strongly linked with the striker last summer and the Mirror claim we held talks about a potential move before he eventually signed a new contract at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

However, it seems the French international is already itching for a move as he’s been quoted as telling reporters that he wants to progress his career by leaving Lyon at the end of the season.

Lacazette has continued his excellent form in front of goal with 21 strikes in his 25 games so far this campaign and the 25-year-old says he’ll continue to work hard during the rest of the season in the hope of attracting plenty of interest this summer.

The striker is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I think that this summer will be the time where I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person.

“I am going to continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer.”

So it seems Lacazette will finally be on the move this summer and no doubt Arsenal’s name will continue to be strongly linked with the Frenchman over the coming months.

In fact, the Mirror seem to suggest we’ve already held some form of talks as they claim that we’ve already been told we’ll need to meet his £60m buyout clause in order to land the striker this summer.

Lacazette has all the attributes needed to be a huge success here in England and I do think he’d be an excellent purchase, especially if we’re forced to sell Alexis Sanchez if he fails to sign a new deal.

However, we’ll no doubt face plenty of competition for his signature and Lacazette has been flirting with Barcelona after admitting it would be ‘a dream’ to move to the Nou Camp, so there’s still a LONG way to go before we see the striker in the famous Red & White of Arsenal.
