Arsenal Boss Sparks Transfer Talk After Speaking Out On £60m Liverpool Target

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has sparked fresh transfer talk after making it clear he’s still a huge fan of Liverpool target Alexandre Lacazette

Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsene Wenger praises Alexandre Lacazette….

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has sparked fresh transfer talk after making it clear he’s still a huge fan of Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Mirror.

The French international has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time and Wenger failed with a £40m bid for the striker last summer after Lyon insisted they wanted to keep hold of him for at least another year [Mirror].

Lacazette has continued to cement his reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in the world having scored 28 goals in 34 appearances so far this campaign and the Mirror reported earlier this month that Arsenal and Liverpool were ready to do-battle over the £60m-rated hitman this summer.

Wenger has now sparked fresh transfer speculation after making it clear he’s still a huge fan of the 25-year-old after name-checking Lacazette when speaking about the strength of the current French squad.

The Gunners boss is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“Every corner, you can find a player who can play for the national team, basically. When you look at players like Bakayoko, Lacazette, who are not even selected,”

“That was not the case ten years ago, and that’s why I think France has an exceptional potential and maybe could take over.”

Arsenal are expected to be in the market for another striker this summer with Alexis Sanchez tipped to leave after failing to agree terms over a new contract extension and Lacazette appears to be on Wenger’s radar.

However, the north Londoners could yet face stiff competition from Liverpool for his signature as Jurgen Klopp is also expected to bring a new forward to Anfield with Daniel Sturridge likely to leave after enduring a difficult campaign.

Lacazette would be an excellent addition for either squad as he’s one of the most lethal strikers in the world so I’d love to see him plying his trade here in the Premier League next season.
