Arsenal Plot £60m Swoop For 40-Goal Hitman As Wenger Eyes Two World Class Signings

Arsenal are plotting a £60m move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as boss Arsene Wenger looks to sign two world class players this summer

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are looking to sign two world class players this summer….

Arsenal are plotting a £60m move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as boss Arsene Wenger looks to sign two world class players this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Wenger ended doubts over his future after signing a new two-year extension last week and widespread reports suggest the board are ready to back the Frenchman with a sizeable transfer kitty to turn us back in to genuine title contenders.

Kylian Mbappe has emerged as a key target in recent days with the Express reporting that Arsenal are set to table an improved £95m bid for the teenage sensation after seeing an opening £87m offer rejected by Monaco.

But with the likes of Real Madrid also tracking the French international it’s going to be extremely difficult to lure him to the Emirates so it looks as though Wenger has already got an alternative target in mind.

The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are also plotting a stunning swoop for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and believe we can sign the Borussia Dortmund for £60m this summer.

Aubameyang has just come off the back of a superb campaign that saw him score 40 goals in all competitions for Dortmund making him one of the most prolific goal-scorers in Europe.

The 27-year-old’s future at the Westfalonstadion is in serious doubt amid reports he’s looking to leave and it looks like Wenger is ready to make a renewed attempt to sign the Gabon international after missing out last summer.

The Daily Mail say Arsenal are already close to strengthening the squad with the signings of left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer and young forward Henry Onyekuru from KAS Eupen but Wenger wants to land two marquee names over the coming weeks.

Mbappe or Aubameyang are the striker targets but the newspaper suggests that the boss also wants to add to his wide options with Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez and Kingsley Coman all on his radar.

Riyad Mahrez

Lemar has just enjoyed a superb season with Monaco but the Ligue 1 outfit will be reluctant to lose too many of their squad so any potential deal would be dependent on who else leaves this summer.

Coman has recently seen his loan spell at Bayern Munich from Juventus made permanent but the Daily Mail say there are doubts over his place in Carlo Anceloti’s squad so the Bundesliga champions could look to turn a quick profit.

However, the most realistic target is probably Mahrez as the Algerian international handed in a written transfer request last week so he’s almost certain to leave Leicester City this summer.

We were strongly linked with a move for Mahrez last summer before he signed a new deal at the King Power and Wenger confirmed his interest in the 26-year-old recently so I wouldn’t be surprised if we formalised our interest over the coming weeks.

It looks like it’s going to be an exciting summer at Arsenal as Wenger looks to turn us back in to title challengers and it seems the boss has some ambitious plans in the market. Let’s just hope he manages to pull them off.
