Arsenal have tabled an offer worth a whopping £123m for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe as Arsene Wenger continues his pursuit of the teen superstar this summer, according to Marca via the Express.
Wenger has already signed Sead Kolasinac and broken our club transfer record to snap-up Alexandre Lacazette but it seems the boss is still hoping to further strengthen his attacking options by pulling off a sensational coup for Mbappe.
The 18-year-old has become the hottest property in world football after scoring 24 goals and setting up a further 14 for his team mates to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season.
The French international has attracted interest from all over Europe and while Real Madrid remain the favourites to sign Mbappe it seems Arsenal are still doing all they can to lure him to the Emirates.
Following reports that Wenger held a three-hour meeting with the player and his agents recently, the Express are citing a report from Marca that claims Arsenal have put forward an offer worth £123.3m (€140m) for Mbappe’s signature.
It’s not made clear whether Monaco have responded to the supposed bid but the French publication do suggest that despite Arsenal’s best efforts, Mbappe looks increasingly likely to stay in France for one more year before joining Madrid next summer.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev is determined not to see their talented young side ripped apart so they could yet resist world record bids in order to keep hold of Mbappe for at least another season.
That would obviously be a big disappointment for Arsenal as the teenager is a hugely exciting talent who is destined to develop in to one of the best players on the planet.

However, nobody can say Wenger hasn’t done all he can to try and sign the French sensation and who knows, maybe the boss will still shock the world and pull this one out the bag over the coming weeks.
