Conte Boost As Striker Target Demands Move Ahead Of Possible £80m Chelsea Switch

Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Andrea Belotti after the £80m-rated striker told Torino he wants to leave this summer

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Chelsea’s pursuit of Andrea Belotti…

Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Andrea Belotti after the £80m-rated striker told Torino he wants to leave this summer, according to a report in the Express.

Antonio Conte is desperately trying to buy a top class striker after informing Diego Costa he is no longer in his plans for this season and the Blues have so far been frustrated in their pursuit of several targets.

Chelsea missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and have failed to agree deals for Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Real Madrid hitman Alvaro Morata.

However, Belotti has also been touted as a potential target and the Premier League champions could have more luck this time around as the Express are reporting that the Italian has informed Torino he wants to join a bigger club.

The newspaper are citing Tancredi Palmeri as the source of the information with the Italian journalist claiming that it’s now up to interested clubs such as Chelsea to pay Belotti’s £80m asking price.

Palmeri is quoted by the newspaper as saying:

“Belotti has asked to Torino to go to bigger club. Now up to Chelsea and Milan to offer 90ish millions of €…”

We’ll have to wait and see whether Chelsea are now prepared to meet that asking price but Belotti would be an exciting addition if the Blues were to lure him to West London this summer.

The Italian international has just come off the back of a superb campaign that saw him score 28 goals in just 38 games for Torino to forge a reputation as one of the best strikers in Europe.

Therefore, the 23-year-old would provide a real goal-threat up front and I’m sure Conte will be urging his Chelsea bosses to get a deal over the line as quickly as possible before his preparations for next season are overshadowed.
