Chelsea Plot Move For £60m Brazilian As Conte Eyes Double Swoop

Chelsea are still plotting a move for £60m-rated Juventus star Alex Sandro while Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is also a key target for Antonio Conte

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea eye two more signings….

Chelsea are still plotting a move for £60m-rated Juventus star Alex Sandro while Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is also a key target for Antonio Conte, according to the Express.

The Blues boss has been extremely active in the transfer market this summer having snapped-up Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero so far.

However, Conte is still looking to further strengthen as he knows he needs a much stronger squad if Chelsea are to compete on all fronts next season ahead of their return to the Champions League.

A new defender to compete with Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back role is on the agenda and Sandro has been strongly linked with a move in recent weeks but Chelsea have struggled to agree a deal with Juventus.

The Brazilian international has developed in to one of the best full-backs in Europe over the past few years and the Express are quoting Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth as saying they’ll need to pay £60m to tempt Juve in to a sale.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be prepared to meet that asking price but Sheth also claims that Conte is eyeing a potential double swoop that also involves Llorente.

The defending champions appear to still be in the market for another striker despite Morata’s arrival and Michy Batshuayi’s pre-season form as Diego Costa is expected to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Sheth is quoted as saying by the Express:

“They [Chelsea] do remain interested in the Juventus left-back Alex Sandro. The Brazilian started for Juve in their 3-2 victory over PSG.

“It’s thought a bid of £60million would be required if Chelsea are to have any chance to sign Sandro.”

“They remain interested in Swansea striker Fernando Llorente. No formal talks have taken place yet as Llorente continues his recovery from the fractured arm which forced him to miss the team’s pre-season tour of the United States.

Conte knows Llorente well from their time together at Juventus and the Spaniard has impressed since joining Swansea so he wouldn’t need any time to settle in the Premier League.

I’m sure Swansea will do all they can to keep hold of the 32-year-old but it will be difficult for Llorente to turn down the chance to play for Chelsea if they do come calling with a formal offer.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but I think Sandro would be an excellent signing for Chelsea while Llorente would provide decent back-up for Morata if Conte manages to pull off this double swoop.
