Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham are all battling to sign Manchester City’s highly-rated winger Jadon Sancho this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.

Sancho came through Watford’s youth system before joining City in 2015 and he’s developed in to one of the most exciting young talents in British football over the past two years.

The 17-year-old has starred for the City youth teams and was named Player of the Tournament at this summer’s U17 European Championships after scoring seven goals to help England reach the final.

Pep Guardiola and City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak have heaped praise on Sancho in recent months and the teenager was expected to go our their pre-season tour of the United States.

However, the winger was surprisingly left out of the travelling squad and the Mirror claim the decision didn’t go down well with Sancho, particularly as fellow youth team players Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz were included.

The newspaper says Guardiola took the decision after Sancho refused to sign a new contract amid interest from Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs with the trio all looking to lure the youngster away from the Etihad this summer.

The report suggests that United are pushing hard to try and tempt Sancho across Manchester but the attacker is believed to be particularly interested in moving back to north London.

A key factor for the winger is the opportunity to break in to the first team squad quickly as he doesn’t see how he’s going to force his way in to Pep Guardiola’s plans any time soon.

Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettino have a reputation for given youth players a chance so you can see why Sancho may be tempted by a move back down south this summer.

It would be considered something of a coup if someone can lure Sancho away from the Etihad, however, if the attacker does move to Arsenal, Spurs or United then City will be due significant training compensation if a fee can’t be agreed between the two clubs.
