President Of Euro Giants Ready To Sell £30.8m Star To Liverpool

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to sell Dani Ceballos to Liverpool but only to boost their own chances of landing Mohamed Salah

The January transfer window in closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Real Madrid are ready to sell Dani Ceballos to Liverpool….

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to sell Dani Ceballos to Liverpool but only to boost their own chances of landing Mohamed Salah, according to a report in the Express.

Ceballos has struggled to force his way in to Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven since joining Madrid from Real Betis last summer as the young midfielder has started just two La Liga games so far.

The 21-year-old has reportedly grown frustrated with his lack of action and was strongly linked a move to Liverpool during the January transfer window but Madrid refused to do business.

Jurgen Klopp has maintained his interest in the Spanish U21 international with TeamTalk reporting earlier this week that Liverpool have held talks with the midfielders agent about a potential £30.8m move this summer.

The Reds have now been handed a boost as the Express are citing a report from Diario Gol that claims Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to do a deal with Liverpool that would see Ceballos move to Anfield on an initial loan deal with the option to make the move permanent in 2019.

The midfielder is seemingly keen on the idea of linking up with Klopp on Merseyside, however, the report says Perez has an ulterior motive behind the deal as he wants to use Ceballos as way to build relations with Liverpool ahead of a move for Mo Salah.

The Spanish outlet claims Madrid have earmarked Salah as a prime target and hope that by allowing Ceballos to move to Anfield, Liverpool will be more receptive when they come calling for the Egyptian international.

That could throw a spanner in the works as I’m not convinced Klopp wants Ceballos badly enough that he’ll be prepared to even contemplate selling Salah to Madrid any time soon.

However, Liverpool could simply finalise a deal to sign Ceballos this summer and then politely tell Madrid ‘Salah’s not for sale’ when they enquire about the in-form attacker.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but as much as Ceballos would be an exciting addition to the Liverpool squad, he’s not worth losing Salah for.
