[REVIEW & PREDICTED TEAM] Arsenal vs Ipswich:

arsenal news

It’s all to play for against Ipswich tonight in the Carling Cup. The first leg saw us go down to a 1-0 defeat after we put on a horrid performance at Portman Road but in all probability this time we should make it [touch wood]!

Injury News:

Abou Diaby ‘may’ return to the squad, but the rest of the players i.e Luke, Alumina, Tommy-V, SQ18, and Frimpong are still out. No new injuries from the weekend.

Predicted Team:

——————————————————-Szczesny————————————————————-

—Eboue————————–Kosher————————Djourou—————————-Gibbs——

——————————————————Denilson————————————————————

——————————————Cesc————————–Jack———————————————

——-Nikko———————————————————————————————Nasri————

——————————————————-Chamakh———————————————————–

Subs: Shea, Sagna, Song, TR7, Arshavin, Theo, RVP

Final Thoughts:

The boss has said that he shall be rotating the squad a little, but the above squad is what I do expect. Chamakh and Nikko played well at Elland Road last week so I guess they should start up front along with Nasri. Fabregas and Jack shall act as Cam’s behind them and Denilson should play CDM. The defense should only see 2 changes wih Sagna and Clichy being subbed for Eboue and Gibbs. Conor Wickham is a guy we must look out for so both Denilson and Eboue should be cautious about moving forward. Ipswich beat us using the long-ball and counter-attack tactic last time so this is also something which we must be wary about.

Now I know people are thinking that although the boss has said that he will rotate why such a squad ???

Well, here’s the reason. It has been rumoured that Ipswich will look to ‘Park the bus’ at the Emirates, so logically this is one of the best teams to break down their defense. Secondly, if they wish to surprise us and go on the offensive, the above team is perfect to counter-attack with! Now RVP is on a hot streak [Touch-wood] but I guess he should rest a bit as he has played an entire match 2 days back. If required we can bring him and Theo on at half-time.

Cheers,

THE ARMOURY
