£220,000-A-Week Star Ready To Join Arsenal, Liverpool Or Man Utd In Bargain Deal
Yaya Toure’s agent has claimed the midfielder is prepared to play for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United for just £1-per-week
The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Yaya Toure could be set for a sensational move….
Yaya Toure’s agent has sensationally claimed the midfielder is prepared to play for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United for just £1-per-week, according to the Mirror.
Toure enjoyed eight excellent seasons at City after joining the club from Barcelona in 2010 and helped the Citizens win 3 Premier League titles, 3 League Cups and 1 FA Cup.
However, the Ivory Coast international fell out-of-favour following Pep Guardiola’s arrival two years ago and he started just 1 Premier League game last season as City marched to the title.
Toure is now a free agent after his contract at the Etihad Stadium expired and the 35-year-old launched an astonishing attack on Guardiola after accusing him of having a dislike for African players.
The midfielder’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has now continued the attack on Guardiola and claims Toure is ready to play for a top six club like Arsenal, United or Liverpool for just £1-per-week to prove the Spaniard wrong.
Seluk says the Ivorian has lucrative offers abroad but wants to stay in the Premier League and is willing to join another big club on an incentivised deal to show the world he’s still capable of playing at the highest level.
Seluk is quoted by the Mirror as saying:
“Pep turned Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from City.
“At a time when big sums are being paid, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club in the top six with a salary of £1 pound a week. But with a bonus system based on certain successes.”
“Now Yaya has many offers from different countries, where they are ready to pay a lot of money, but we decided to dedicate the next season to Guardiola.
“And to prove and show the fans of Manchester City that Yaya is not finished with football. He is full of energy and wants to play this season in England.
“I believe that a player like Yaya would not harm Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. Yaya – the winner. And never before has a top footballer with leadership qualities harmed any club, especially when it is not necessary to pay for it.”
This is a stunning claim by Seluk as the Mirror says Toure was on £220,000-a-week at City so it would be a monumental wage cut if he was seriously willing to accept an incentivised deal worth just £1 basic per week.
We’ll have to wait and see whether the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or United bite and take a chance on Toure but it could prove to be the deal of the century if he can return to the sort of form we saw from him a couple of years ago.
