Finally Gooners Get A Trip To The New Wembley

football news

This trip has been a long time come. The Gunners have never been to new Wembley but we changed history with an emphatic victory over a resilient Ipswich. Although we were odds on to beat the Championship side, credit must be given to Paul Jewell and the Tractor Boys as they gave us a good fright for over an hour.

It is as if Arsene saw the light at the end of the tunnel and answered many a fan’s prayer when he decided to start with Fabregas and Van Persie for the match. Both players dictate the play and was in control for much of the first half. Van Persie almost opened the scoring for us but he could only divert a Bendtner cross into the bar. At this time we were in full control of the match, and true to their word, Ipswich literally parked their tractor in front of Martin Fulop. It didn’t help that the lads were let down by some poor finishing. Even Fabregas was at fault when he failed to hit the net after being put through by Wilshere.

As the match wore on, you could see that Arsene and the fans were getting a little anxious. However, the brilliance of two young players who made their debuts in this competition put paid to Ipswich’s hopes of an upset. A long crossfielf pass from the excellent Wilshere was controlled brilliantly bu the much maligned Bendtner. The Dane who was also impressive in his last start against Leeds, turned two defenders before curling a shot beyond the grasp of Fulop. You could see the relief etched on everyone after the goal has gone in. After that it was less of a resistance as quick goals from Koscielny and Fabregas gave us the chance to end our trophy drought that everyone seems to harp on about.

If we were to win the League Cup, it would really be fitting testament to Arsene’s grand youth project. No doubt he fielded a stronger side this year in the competition but Tuesday’s starting eleven consisted of 7 players who came up through the academy and made their first team debuts in this competition:

Szcezny, Clichy, Djourou, Denilson, Fabregas, Wilshere, Bendtner.

As we are still in the hunt for all the cup competitions, a win in Wembley could be the catalyst we need to achieve greater success this season including clinching the Premier title again.

Guys, give the kid a break, it’s The Arsenal Kid afterall, an easy mistake to make, that Semi with Chelsea hardly felt like “going to Wembley” as in the for the Final, so stop taking the P**s. ArseKid, don’t worry about it, we get your sentiment and point, let’s hope we are celebrating after our “First Wembly Cup Final”, hoping we have to go back there a few more times this season!

the author is from Malaysia… says it all really

all the calls from the anti wenger brigade that you find on these sites are from bloggers from the far east who have a delusional or at least completely different view of our club then us londoners do. they think we should do what their mate’s clubs do, you know the far eastern chelsea and manure supporters.

all the far eastern supporters are welcome to watch and support our club but when you write rubbish online you give a bad image of the club and you jeopardize a lot of things in our club. like for example the british media and other supporters question whether Wenger is the right man for the club because of the things that have appeared on arsenal sites like these

Yeah christ, the pitch at wembley is absolutely horrible, it will suit Birmingham far more than us to play there.

sc how about you go f**k yourself you racist c*nt!

I’m really glad our “far eastern” supporters have your permission to watch and support the club, that’s really nice of you f**king pr**k.

You’re a f**king idiot too, it’s racist f**k faces like you that give our club a bad image in the eyes of the British media, not a person who makes a small few basic errors because they’re first language isn’t English.

Have nice f**king day you stupid cockney Tottenham supporting c*nt!

ok bongo, he made a mistake cos his 1st language wasnt english. no he made a mistake cos he is a dumb f*ck who dont kno jack, has supported arsenal for 2minutes and so he can write bs about the club. this is the same sort of supporters that have articles all over the net about how wenger should be sacked, yet you go to the emirates and everyone there is 100% “theres only 1 wenger”

i aint white or have english parents btw (born n bread londoner tho) and i aint got a problem with whoever supports the club. the more the merrier what ever country no doubt. just get annoyed with people that write bs about the club for everyone to read which gives the club a bad name and has even put the managers position in jeopardy. fair enuff this kid got it wrong…minor but this is what happens alot now adays with far worse consequences. wenger was questioned in the shareholders meeting about how fans were turning on him… and the source of this is sites like this that get it wrong

maybe my agro should be aimed at the internet for giving everyone a platform to speak even tho it might be absolute ball oaks

my apologies for my racistness but lets face it every1s a little bit racist (whites to blacks, blacks to white) thats what happens when god makes people different

Sorry for my vicious tone in my last post, any hint of racism really p**ses me off. Maybe I was a bit too quick to fly off the handle.

There a lot of sites that do criticize him and do nothing but call for more signings, a CB, a DM and all that other crap. It is really annoying to see that.

There were some inaccuracies in his post but nothing tells me he;s one of those “sack Wenger and spend 100 million and one big name player” fools who play too much fifa and pro ev and think getting player is that easy or that guys like that can solve any problems they think we have.

We have the best squad in the league, we have a solid defence now, great attacking options, confidence, belief and a final to play in. I would be more than happy with the carling cup, top 3, ending United’s unbeaten run at the Emirates (revenge is sweet) and beating Barcelona. But I honestly think we have a chance in all competitions. If I had to choose a priority though it would be beating Barcelona, that would make my season.

Sorry for calling you all those names. Again even the slightest whiff of racism and I go nuts. I take it all back.
