4-3-3: Klopp Handed Triple Fitness Boost | Expected Liverpool Line-Up vs West Ham

Premier League football is back and Liverpool kick their 2018/19 campaign off when they welcome West Ham to Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Jurgen Klopp will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Liverpool appear to have finally resolved their goalkeeper problems after splashing out £67m on the signing of Alisson Becker this summer and the Brazilian is set to make his Premier League debut this weekend. Loris Karius is expected to stay at Anfield as back-up with Simon Mignolet likely to secure a move to Europe this summer.

Defence: Klopp has plenty of fitness concerns in defence as Dejan Lovren has been ruled out while Ragnar Klavan will also miss the game on Sunday afternoon.

Joel Matip is struggling to prove his fitness but Joe Gomez is back in training after a knock and is hoping to pass a late fitness test. Klopp seemed confident at his press conference that the England youngster would make it so I think we’ll see Gomez alongside Virgil van Dijk at the back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has only recently started his pre-season training but Klopp says he’s in good shape so could be in contention to start at right-back ahead of Nathaniel Clyne. Andrew Robertson is certain to start on the left ahead of Alberto Moreno.

Midfield: Liverpool have been handed a huge boost with Fabinho returning to training yesterday. The Brazilian international was given the all-clear after having a scan on a knock and was initially a doubt after being sent home sick on Thursday but he was able to train on Friday and should start on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson and James Milner may not be risked due to a lack of match practice having only began their pre-season training recently so Gini Wijnaldum could get a start in midfield.

Summer signing Naby Keita will make his Premier League debut in midfield but obviously Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is unavailable due to a long-term knee injury.

Attack: Liverpool strengthened their attack with the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri this summer and the Swiss international has impressed in pre-season but it’s difficult to see him forcing his way in to the starting eleven on a regular basis.

Mohamed Salah is fully fit so no doubt the Egyptian international will start as he’ll be looking to pick up where he left off last season after enjoying a sensational debut campaign at Anfield.

Sadio Mane should also keep his place after another superb season while Roberto Firminio is likely to lead the line up front with Daniel Sturridge having to make do with a place on the bench despite an encouraging pre-season.

Here is how we think Liverpool will line up:
