“I Can’t Wait To Go” – Highly Rated Midfielder Confirms He’s Set To Join Arsenal

Arsenal have won the race to sign Catalin Carjan and the highly-rated Romanian midfielder has revealed when he will link-up with his new team

The Premier League transfer window may be closed but European clubs can still buy from English teams and managers are planning for the future so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip. Today, Catalin Carjan is set to join Arsenal in December…

Arsenal have won the race to sign Catalin Carjan and the highly-rated Romanian midfielder has revealed when he will link-up with his new team, according to the Metro.

Unai Emery splashed out around £70m on five new signings this summer as he revamped the first team squad he inherited from Arsene Wenger after taking over from the long-serving Frenchman at the end of last season.

However, Emery, together with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, have also been working on improving the academy team with left-back Joel Lopez set to join from Barcelona when he turns 17 while striker Sam Greenwood was also snapped-up from Sunderland.

It looks like the club have now snared another top young talent as the Metro claim Carjan has agreed to join Arsenal from Viitorul Domnesti with the teenager due to complete the switch when he turns 16 in December.

Carjan is considered to be one of the most promising young talents in Romanian football having come through the ranks at Viitorul and the midfielder has confirmed he can’t wait to join the Gunners later this year.

The youngster also claims Arsenal have been watching him for some time and invited him to attend a game before snapping him up with the promise of progression to the first team squad within two years.

The 15-year-old is quoted as saying by the Metro:

‘It’s something else. It’s a big difference I cannot wait to go there to sign [for Arsenal] and it’s going to be much better.

‘I will sign when I’m 16. They’ve been watching me for more matches and that was it – after that they sent me the tickets to go to them. They told me that I was a good player and that they wanted [me] to go to the big team in two years.’

Carjan’s agent Catalin Sarmasan also represented Vlad Dragomir when he joined Arsenal in 2015 so we probably used that relationship to help smooth this latest deal.

Obviously fans like to see the club making big-money signings that are going to strengthen the first team but it’s also important for us to improve the academy sides so hopefully Carjan can continue to develop over the coming years and break in to the senior squad in the future.
