Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Dejan Lovren will miss Liverpool’s next two games with an on-going pelvic injury.

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon ahead of the game and given reporters a team news and injury update.

The Reds boss confirmed that Dejan Lovren will miss the visit of Brighton this weekend and the centre-back isn’t expected to be available again until after the September international break.

Lovren missed the wins over West Ham and Crystal Palace due to a pelvic injury that hampered him throughout pre-season and Klopp says the Croatian international is unlikely to be back for the trip to Leicester next weekend.

The Premier League then stops for the international break so it looks like the earliest we’ll see Lovren in action is Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham on September 15th.

With Lovren still unavailable it looks like Joe Gomez could continue alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of defence as the youngster has performed superbly so far this season and could keep Joel Matip on the sidelines.

Otherwise, Klopp has virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the only other absentee with the midfielder continuing to recover from a serious knee injury that he suffered last season.
