Liverpool will be looking to book their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup when they welcome Chelsea to Anfield this evening. Here is the team we think Jurgen Klopp will select:

Goalkeeper: Klopp has confirmed that Simon Mignolet will be handed his first start of the season so Alisson will be given a well earned rest having impressed between the sticks since arriving from AS Roma in the summer.

Defence: Klopp has suggested he’ll rotate his squad but insists he won’t make 11 changes so we could see Trent Alexander-Arnold keeping his place at right-back as Nathaniel Clyne seems to have fallen out of favour.

Alberto Moreno has at least been in the matchday squads recently so he could replace Andrew Robertson at left-back while Joe Gomez could be recalled alongside Joel Matip as Virgil van Dijk won’t be risked after picking up a rib injury at the weekend.

Dejan Lovren is back in contention after returning to full training recently following a niggling pelvic injury that’s hampered him since the World Cup but he may have to make do with a place on the bench against Chelsea.

Midfield: We should see some changes in midfield as James Milner and Naby Keita are expected to be recalled after being benched for the win over Southampton at the weekend with Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum making way.

Fabinho has been forced to be patient and wait for his chance since joining the club but Klopp may see this is the perfect opportunity to hand the Brazilian international his full debut in midfield.

Attack: Xherdran Shaqiri is expected to keep his place after making his full debut against Southampton while Daniel Sturridge should get another chance to impress up front after scoring on his first start of the season against Paris Saint-Germain last week.

Roberto Firmino is likely to be rested ahead of the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge as he’s still nursing an eye problem but I think we’ll see Klopp retain one of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane in attack tonight.

Salah has been a little out of sorts so far this season so the Reds boss may decide to give the Egyptian international a breather with Mane the man to join Shaqiri and Sturridge in front three.

Dominic Solanke is back in contention after recovering from concussion so he could make the bench but Divock Origi remains out along with Adam Lallana.

Here is how I think Liverpool will line up:
