Liverpool welcome Napoli to Anfield on Tuesday night knowing they have to win in order to seal qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a full team news and injury update including the latest on the fitness of Sadio Mane, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana.

Mane missed the win at Burnley last week due to a foot problem that he picked up during the Merseyside derby but he made his return from the bench during the resounding 4-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday and Klopp has confirmed he’s available for selection against Napoli.

Adam Lallana is also expected to be in contention for the crucial Champions League game as Klopp says the midfielder has shown no ill-effects despite needing stitches in a nasty head wound during the closing stages of Saturday’s win at Bournemouth.

There was also encouraging news on Lovren as the centre-back could make his return to the squad on Tuesday night after missing the last three matches due to a concussion that he suffered in training last week.

Lovren trained on Sunday and the Croatian international is expected to take part in training with the rest of the squad at Melwood this afternoon before a final decision over his availability is made.

The Reds boss told Liverpoolfc.com:

“Sadio can deal with the pain obviously – it looked like that in Bournemouth, so that’s cool. It’s good enough that we can consider him at least.

“We have two sessions still to come – we’ll train tomorrow morning as well. That’s very important. We have the meeting to do. In the squad there is nothing really serious after the game, that’s good.”

“We will see how Dejan is doing. Yesterday he was out on the pitch and looked quite well. Can he be part of training today or not? We will see that. Squad-wise, [there is] no bad news at least.”

“He [Lallane] looked fine. Nobody told me differently. He was running yesterday.”

Elsewhere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still missing as he continues to work his way back from a serious knee injury that he suffered last season while Joe Gomez is obviously unavailable after being ruled out for six weeks with a fractured leg.

Liverpool head in to tomorrow night’s action sitting third in Group C – three points adrift of leaders Napoli – so they need to win 1-0 or by two clear goals to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
