[Photos] Man Utd handed major double boost as key duo train ahead of PSG clash

Man Utd have been handed a double fitness boost with Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford taking part in training ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with PSG

Manchester United have been handed a huge double fitness boost with Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford both taking part in training ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Lindelof was forced to miss Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage after picking up a minor knock ahead of the game which made him a slight doubt for the visit of PSG on Tuesday night.

However, United held an open training session this morning and the M.E.N claims that Lindelof was among the party that took part in full training at Carrington so it looks like the Swedish international will be back in contention tomorrow.

Lindelof’s return will be a big boost for United as he’s been a key figure in the back four since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came-in as manager with Saturday’s win at Fulham the first Premier League game he’s missed since mid-December.

There is also positive news on Rashford as the striker was also able to take part in full training today after not starting against Fulham at the weekend due to a niggling dead leg that caused him trouble all last week.

Speaking to the media after the win at Fulham, Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the M.E.N:

“There are a couple of niggles. Rashy got a dead leg against Leicester that he’s struggled with all week, so we don’t want to risk him. At the back, we’ve got a few changes. Victor is out, not a really a concern, he should be okay for Tuesday.

So it looks like Lindelof and Rashford will be available for Tuesday’s clash with PSG but Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia are set to miss out once again as they were absent at today’s training session.

The defensive duo are United’s only two injury concerns so Solskjaer has a healthy squad to choose from as he prepares to welcome PSG to Old Trafford for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Here are the players that trained today, as per the M.E.N:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Romero, Grant

Defenders: Smalling, Bailly, Jones, Lindelof, Shaw, Young, Dalot, Rojo

Midfielders: Pogba, Matic, Herrera, McTominay, Pereira, Fred

Attackers: Mata, Lingard, Rashford, Sanchez, Lukaku, Martial.
