Sky Sports: Tottenham blow as Man Utd could do deal to sign £70m South American star

Juventus are ready to use Tottenham target Paulo Dybala as bait in their bid to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer

We’re now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, the latest on Paulo Dybala….

Juventus are ready to use Tottenham target Paulo Dybala as bait in their bid to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

Lukaku has been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan throughout the summer with Antonio Conte confirming his desire to lure the former Chelsea hitman to Italy as part of his overhaul at the San Siro.

However, the two clubs have so far failed to agree a deal and that’s opened the door for Juventus with Sky Sports claiming the Serie A champions have now joined the race to sign the £79m-rated Belgian international.

It looks like United could be offered a tempting swap deal as Sky Sports says Juve are ready to submit an offer for Lukaku that would see Dybala included as part exchange for the 26-year-old.

Dybala has been tipped to leave Juventus this summer after struggling to adapt following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo 12 months ago with the Argentinean international scoring just 5 goals last season.

Before Ronaldo joined, Dybala was seen as a key player for the Old Lady but he’s been marginalised at the club in recent months and it looks like new boss Maurizio Sarri is hoping to use him as a makeweight to land Lukaku.

Man Utd could be tempted by such a deal as the Daily Mail claimed last week that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to sign Dybala and the newspaper suggested Juve valued the South American at around £70m.

That figure is just short of United’s reported valuation of Lukaku so a player swap deal could be relatively easy to negotiate as long as the two players were open to the respective moves.

However, this news will come as a blow to Tottenham as Tuttosport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, claimed last week that Spurs had made contact with Juventus to discuss a potential deal to sign Dybala.

Mauricio Pochettino has already broken the clubs transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele in a £62m deal this summer and it seems the Tottenham boss is now eyeing an ambitious move for Dybala as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for the Premier League.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but it seems Man Utd may be in pole position to sign Dybala if he opts for a move to England and I think the Argentinean international would be a superb signing.
