Manchester United take on Premier League leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Here is the team we think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea is a major doubt after limping out of Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Sweden on Tuesday night with a groin problem. Solskjaer says he doesn’t expected his number one to be available so Sergio Romero is set to come in to deputise between the sticks on Sunday.

Defence: Man Utd are set to welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka back into the starting eleven after the right-back recovered from tonsillitis which kept him out of the two games before the international break. Diogo Dalot will make way.

Luke Shaw is also being tipped to pass a late fitness test after returning to training following a hamstring injury that’s kept him on the sidelines since late August. Ashley Young is on stand-by to start at left-back against Liverpool if Solskjaer doesn’t risk Shaw from the start.

Victor Lindelof is back in contention and should be recalled in the middle of defence after missing the defeat to Newcastle two weeks ago. Harry Maguire will keep his place so Axel Tuanzebe is the man set to drop out.

Midfield: Man Utd are expected to be without Paul Pogba as the midfielder continues to overcome a troublesome foot injury which has hampered him for several weeks.

The French international spent time in Dubai at a training facility last week as he bids to get back to full fitness but the Liverpool game this weekend is likely to come too soon.

Scott McTominay will start once again in the holding role and he could be joined by Nemanja Matic as Fred is expected to be axed following a poor showing against Newcastle last time out.

Attack: United will hand a late fitness check to Anthony Martial but the Frenchman is expected to be back in the squad after recovering from a thigh injury that’s kept him out for the past six weeks. Martial may not be deemed fit enough to last the full 90 minutes but Solskjaer may risk him from the start as he desperately needs more goal threats in his team.

Marcus Rashford could therefore start from out wide with Daniel James likely to be on the opposite flank. Jesse Lingard is expected to be back in contention to face Liverpool after recovering from a muscle problem but he may have to settle for a place on the bench with Juan Mata preferred by Solskjaer.

Mason Greenwood is a doubt with a back injury but Andreas Pereira will be an option for Man Utd from the bench.

Here is how we think United will line-up:
