Key duo return as Klopp makes 4 changes | Expected Liverpool line-up vs Tottenham

Liverpool will look to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table with a win over Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Here is the team we expect Jurgen Klopp to select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker has made a successful return to action following a serious calf injury and the Brazilian international will once again keep goal on Sunday with Adrian named on the bench.

Defence: Liverpool will welcome Trent Alexander-Arnold back into the squad after he missed the Champions League win over Genk due to illness. James Milner filled-in at right-back in midweek but Alexander-Arnold will be recalled against Tottenham.

Joel Matip also missed the trip to Belgium on Wednesday night after aggravating a knee injury against Manchester United last weekend. Matip will be checked by the Liverpool medical staff tomorrow but the injury isn’t serious so he could be recalled on Sunday.

Joe Gomez is pushing for a recall after being left out by Klopp in recent weeks but I think a place on the bench is the best he can hope for as Virgil van Dijk will obviously keep his place while Dejan Lovren will make way after starting against Genk.

Midfield: Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is expected to be recalled after being an unused substitute in midweek. Naby Keita put-in an excellent performance against Genk but I still think we’ll see dropping out against Tottenham.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will hope he’s done enough to retain his place after scoring twice against Genk, including a spectacular effort, but Klopp will want fresh legs against Spurs so Gini Wijnaldum is likely to be given a recall.

Therefore, Oxlade-Chamberlain will have to settle for a place on the bench this weekend as Fabinho will keep his place in the holding role. Adam Lallana will be another option from the bench for Liverpool.

Attack: Roberto Firmino was on-song in the Champions League in midweek as he was playing some wonderful football so no doubt the Brazilian international will once again lead the line up front.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were both among the goal-scorers against Genk and the duo are certain to keep their places in the Liverpool front three against Tottenham this weekend.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains out with an on-going calf injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks but Divock Origi will be an attacking option from the bench for Liverpool.

Here is how I think Liverpool will line up:
