Mauricio Pochettino is looking for a new job after being sacked by Tottenham but it looks unlikely that he’ll be taking over from Unai Emery at Arsenal any time soon.

Tottenham confirmed on Tuesday night that Pochettino had left the club following five-and-a-half- years in north London after they had endured a nightmare start to the new season.

Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League table after winning just three of their 12 games so far and were humiliated 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages last month.

Pochettino has cut a frustrated figure all season after being left disappointed by Tottenham’s transfer business in the summer and it seems his relationship with chairman Daniel Levy was broken beyond repair.

Despite leading Spurs to the Champions League final in May, Pochettino was relieved of his duties at the club on Tuesday evening and Tottenham have already appointed Jose Mourinho as his successor.

It shouldn’t be long before Pochettino is back in work and some Arsenal fans on social media have been calling for the Argentinean coach to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium.

Emery is under growing pressure himself following a poor start to the new season and it seems some Arsenal supporters would love to see Pochettino come in despite his links with Tottenham.

However, they may be disappointed as speaking back in March 2017, Pochettino ruled out the possibility of ever becoming Arsenal manager after saying it was ‘impossible’ for him to join Tottenham’s arch rivals due to his love for Spurs.

Here’s a video where Pochettino ruled out the chance of managing Arsenal:

It would be tough for Tottenham fans to see Pochettino at Arsenal and no doubt at the time he meant what he said about never joining them but things change quickly in football.

Mourinho said back in 2015 that he could never manage Tottenham due to his love for Chelsea but here we are a few years later and he’s now in charge at the New Tottenham Stadium.

Nobody would have thought it possible but circumstances and feelings change, so you never know, perhaps Pochettino would now consider taking over at Arsenal after his ruthless sacking by Levy?

Could Poch become the first man to manage both Arsenal and Tottenham since George Graham? Only time will tell but for now Arsenal aren’t looking for a new manager as Emery is still in a job but things could get interesting once that changes…
