Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Erling Braut Haaland and the Salzburg hitman has already visited their London Colney training base, according to reports in Germany via the Mirror.

Haaland has emerged as one of the most sought after players in world football after enjoying a sensational start to the season that’s seen him score an incredible 26 goals in 18 games in all competitions.

The 19-year-old has scored 19 goals for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga and domestic cup but the talented hitman has also impressed in the Champions League where he’s currently the top scorer with 7 goals in his 4 games so far.

Haaland has proven himself against the very best having scored in group games against Napoli and reigning European Champions Liverpool so it’s no wonder his impressive form is attracting plenty of interest.

The Mirror claim Manchester United are leading the chase to sign Haaland amid reports the player’s father paid a visit to their Carrington training base ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs to strengthen his attacking options after failing to sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku last summer and it appears Haaland has emerged as a serious candidate for the Red Devils.

The Norwegian coach may be confident he can lure his compatriot to Man Utd as Solskjaer knows the youngster well having been the man to give him his first team debut during their time together at Molde.

However, United will face stiff competition for his signature as the Mirror are citing a report from the newspaper version of Sport Bild that claims Arsenal are also right in the mix to sign Haaland.

The German news outlet says the teenage striker and his father Alf-Inge Haaland – who previously played for Man City and Leeds – have visited Arsenal’s London Colney training facility to take a tour of the complex.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are yet to sign new contracts at the Emirates so Arsenal may be in the market for a new striker soon and it looks like the Gunners are showing a keen interest in Haaland.

However, United and Arsenal will also face competition from abroad as the Mirror says Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are also in the running to sign the £85m-rated Norwegian international so it’s going to be interesting to see where he ends up when he leaves Salzburg.
