Time For Arsenal To Address Van Persie Injury Problems?
Now I know this is going to sound pathetic, and trust me it is. For a man to come and hit top form is not easy, but he did it. For a man to perform in whatever matches he has played at a level which is applaudable is not easy to do. And from my heart, RVP is a brilliant player…
But what’s the use, I mean seriously what’s the use? He comes, plays well, gives millions of us hope, gets the most weirdest injury, and who knows how, is out for 3 weeks. Hence in other words he just gets paid for whatever time he plays with us : £90,000 a week, for playing 11matches this season. Out of which he scores superb goals, adds a huge amount of quality to our side, gets injured, taking away the quality, and then ends up trophy less. I am actually really getting ticked off by RVP, and I don’t know why. In Arsenal I must confess that he is one of my favourite players, but this is just too much. I mean Nikko is fit more in a season. Either it’s an international friendly, or a knock or an injury sustained during scoring a goal.
If you have to define one of the best strikers in the world its RVP, no doubt, but if you also have to define one of the most inconsistent strikers in the world its RVP. Nobody doubts the man’s talents, but all we doubt is his fitness.
I know something which I am sure you all must have noticed. To be a winger or striker you require to be strong and agile. Why? Well simply put, you have to hold off defenders. This is one reason why Luis Valencia bulked up. If you compare his physique when at Wigan and Man Utd you will notice the difference. Why can’t our manager ask RVP to bulk up. If he does this he will become more fit and maybe he will become less prone to injury. Look I am no doctor, so I don’t know what’s the best thing to do, but if RVP does not improve his fitness we are going to suffer for seasons to come. Hence anything done on this issue will really help our squad.
He has scored 13 goals in 11 games, thus judging by mathematics he should score at least 25 goals in a season. I know it may be more but let’s just be the pessimist for now. His assist count for 11 games is 5, so logically let’s just add 7 more to that. 12 assists and 25 goals. A player who has created 37 goals in a season. Do you recall that the last player to score more than 25 goals in a season made his team win their title? I can. He plays for a club called Chelsea FC. Any guesses ? …Moreover this is only RVP premier league stats!
He is like Arjen Robben. Robben is a brilliant player, but for Bayern he has started only 10 times alongside Ribery. In Madrid the man was known as the ‘Glass of Spain.’ In England RVP should be called the same thing. ( Just change the country )
See, RVP is that one guy at Arsenal who says “I don’t want to leave and I want to win trophies here.” But if he goes on getting injured it’s absolutely pointless. Infact if he played badly then I would not be so frantic, because then it would be ok. But the man gives us hope, and then takes it away leaving us in a state of ” What could have been ?”
Only if he is fit for the majority of a season can we really see the Dutch-mans potential. Play, get injured, I mean come on…Now you may say that it’s not his fault. And I would have bought that, but this is happening all the damn time. When was the last time you saw RVP play for 3 months, infact lets put it this way. What is the longest you have seen RVP play consecutively?
I actually am feeling bad as I write this post concerning RVP, but let’s look at the big picture. For Arsenal he is good enough, for football he is good enough, but for the premier league..I don’t think so. This summer AW has to do some serious talking to him, otherwise at least half of next season the man will be out again.
Who knows maybe a dog will bite him or something!
