Wenger should stop believing….

arsenal news

This season has seriously been lofty. We have no idea who is going to win, and we have no idea who is going to drop. All we know is that come may there will be one name on the Premier league trophy.

Sometimes some incidents may seriously decide a season. Last year Drogba’s offside. If the linesman had his flag up, Chelsea would have been 1 nil up. But then again nobody is sure whether Macheda’s goal would come. After all he also did handle the ball. But there are always some crucial incidents which I would want to focus on which may have costed United the title. Chelsea drew with Everton at the bridge 3-3. United played Villa later on that day, and they lost 0-1.

Mid-season, and come the blizzards to London. Arsenal drew 2-2 with Everton at the Emirates, and United drew the same game week. These things decide seasons. These small issues decide seasons. If we had beaten WBA at home, and the Toon at home we would have been clear with 3 points. Now it hurts. Yeah, it did hurt then also, but now it hurts even more. Why ? Because we are in that mind-set of “If, this and If that had happened. “ I am getting tired of this, I seriously am. Every season brings so much promise, and every season ends screwed up. We have to start sorting ourselves out, otherwise the only thing occupying our trophy cabinet will be pictures. How many more lost opportunities will we regret at the end of the season. How many more? I mean come on.

The title race is actually getting crazy and I’ll tell you why. Because it appears that Liverpool and Chelsea want Arsenal to win the league, but Arsenal don’t seem to want it! Our manager says we are consistent, and I would agree, but there are games which could have been wins. Wait, let me correct myself here, there are games which SHOULD have been wins. 4-4 at Newcastle, 0-1 at the Emirates, 3-2 at the Emirates[WBA]. My mate (Kopite) tells me I hope Barca beat you in the champions league, because then you can only concentrate on the premier league and win it.

I mean everybody wants us to win the league, everybody. Gooners, Kopites, Chavs. But do we want to win the league, do we? Does any Arsenal player want to win the league? Now the obvious answer is Yes, but where are they showing it, where ? We are gaining points because United are losing points. Arsenal draw 4-4 with Newcastle, and United lose 2-1 at Molinuex, then 3-1 at Anfield, and we again draw 0-0 in London.

Now you shall probably think that the ref is at fault here. Yes, the ref is one person who comes into all of this, but we have to move on. That is the material of champions. Lionel Messi never cries that much after falling down, he just moves on. That’s why he is the world greatest player. That is why Barca are such a good side. They move on, if things are not going their way. We have to learn and , move on also.

Every year our manager says we have matured, but the fact is that even he has to mature. He has to start accepting the fact that once in a while a crucial decision will go against him. And he has to move on. Yes, I know it’s difficult to digest some ridiculous decisions, but we have to do it. These decisions only come useful when you are arguing with a friend over which club is better, not after every match at a press conference.

Accept it, take it on the chin, and move on. That’s life, and that’s football. Then, when a decision shall come in favour of us we can enjoy the fruitfulness of it without giving any stupid thoughts of a somehow related karma. There are idiots in this world who shall always feel let down and sulk. And in all honesty even I was a part of them, but now we have to see whats ahead of us, and put the rest behind us. Otherwise, we have not matured.

Maturity is not holding out a 1-0 lead, maturity is not playing dirty football. If Arsenal win ugly 1 out of 5 times it’s not being mature, only if its 3 out of 5 times then we can say that we have matured. Because that shows consistency over 5 games. Consistency and maturity are 2 things which go hand in hand. I may be mature but if I am not consistent then what’s the use?

But it does not matter what I write, or what I feel. It does not even matter what our manager feels. What matters is what the players think and what the players feel. They are the ones who have to believe, not Wenger. At half time in Spain, he said “They don’t know how strong we are.”  That is what I am talking about, and that is what the players should feel…..NOT Wenger.

11 players out there, in front of 60000(+) fans at the Emirates stadium can lead us to a trophy, and I am fully confident they can. They have the ability, and the power, I know it, you know it, BUT DO THEY ?

Guns-out,
