Liverpool Set To Axe 7 Players To Fund Summer Spending Spree

Liverpool are set to sell 7 fringe players in a bid to get extra funds for their transfer kitty, according to recent reports.

Jovanovic, Degen, Aquilani, Joe Cole, Insua, Poulsen and Paul Konchesky are set to be axed from the Liverpool FC side come the coming transfer window. The 7 mentioned have been said to bring ‘nothing new to the squad’ and is coming partly to get rid of Roy Hodgson’s ‘excess’, namely Jovanovic, Poulsen and former Fulham man Konchesky.

Serbian forward, Milan Jovanovic has yet to make any sort of notable impact for the Reds, as he has been often been left on the substitute…. if he makes that bench at all. Degen has been out on loan at Stuttgart and the signs seem to be saying that he will not return to Anfield.

Aquilani struggled with the English game and has put in many wonderful performances for Juventus thus far in the season. Juventus are unwilling to meet the 18 million pound price tag, but many Serie A clubs are also rumoured to be interested. Joe Cole has been a regular on the treatment table and was even part of the Lancashire Senior’s Cup. (need anymore explanation?)

Insua is apparently rumoured to be wanting to stay with his current on loan Turkish club Galatasaray, and he is said to not be returning to Anfield, like Degen. Poulsen and Konchesky have both struggled since their moves and they will most likely move in the summer.
