BREAKING: Arsenal’s Nasri To Demand Huge Pay Rise

In a stunning outburst, Arsenal’s midfield sensation of this season, Samir Nasri has come out and has made a statement to demand pay parity with Arsenal’s captain Cesc Fabregas.

The Frenchman is stalling on a £90,000 a week deal that would make him the second highest paid player in Arsenal’s club history, and the recognition from the papers and his peers could push that deal higher. Arsenal offered him that deal in the region of two weeks ago, and it is reported that Nasri is waiting for the PFA Player Of The Year award to be announced: an award that he expects to win.

Nasri is on the seven-man shortlist for the PFA award, along with Gareth Bale, Carlos Tevez, Scott Parker, Charlie Adam, Rafael van der Vaart and Nemanja Vidic. The winner is due to be announced at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on April 17. The FWA award is traditionally revealed a few weeks later.

Nasri was first contacted by the club last autumn about signing a new contract but talks have progressed slowly. Fabregas was given his £110,000 a week pay packet just two years ago, and Nasri may want to be on level terms with the Spaniard.
