Seria A side AC Milan have expressed their interest in signing Chelsea star Michael Essien and are set to make an £18 million offer for the midfielder this summer.
AC Milan are closing in on their first Serie A title in six years and manager Massimiliano Allegri has made Essien one of his top transfer targets as he looks to add further quality to his squad.
The San Siro outfit are being forced into looking for midfield options for next season as the ageing trio Clarence Seedorf, Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo are all out of contract in the summer.
However, it is highly unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti will entertain offers for his midfield enforcer, despite his inconsistent form at times this year.
