I will be honest with you readers, I have never heard of Morgan Amalfitano until he was linked a few weeks ago to the Gunners. I have heard of his teammate, Kevin Gamiero, but not him. Despite this, I’ll try the best I can, to give a good report about him.

Morgan Amalfitano was born on March 20, 1985 in Nice, France. He is 5ft 91/2 inches and is a midfielder, who mostly plays as a playmaker or as a right winger. Amalfitano began his career with Sedan, playing with them for five seasons ever his debut in 2003. He made 126 appearances, scoring no goals. Amalfitano left Sedan to Lorient in 2008, he has so far made 100 appearances and has scored 13 goals. This season, has been his best so far in his career. He has formed one of the partnerships in Europe with another player heavily linked with the Gunners, Kevin Gamiero. Amalfitano has so far scored 5 goals and accumulated 10 assists, in 35 appearances this season, most of them to partner-in-crime, Kevin Gamiero. Morgan Amalfitano is known for his intelligence, good technique, and his powerful play with many likening him to a certain Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira. Amalfitano is a late-bloomer, but has certainly shown his class this season, with big European clubs chasing him besides the Gunners, in the likes of Juventus, Tottenham, Paris St. Germain, and Aston Villa.

Morgan Amalfitano will be available for free, as his contract expires this season, and has confirmed his desire not to renew his contract. I have been skeptical at first over him, but from what I’ve heard of him and from the clips and games I’ve watched him play in…. he might not be a bad addition after all.

Check out these clips to get a better view of his talents:

What do you think? Is Amalfitano a suitable signing? Should Wenger go for him? Are there other alternatives? Please share your thoughts and opinions.
