This is breaking news as Denilson has confirmed that he is leaving the Gunners, citing lack of trophies and success as the reason, that “he made up his mind 8 months ago”, and that Wenger accepted his transfer request.

Well, personally I’m relieved that he is leaving, he has been poor this season and I never felt that he would make it in the Premier League. What angers me the most, is that he doesn’t blame himself or own up that his poor performances are one of the reasons why “the club drop silly points in stupid games.” He’s one of the worst players to wear the Arsenal shirt in 10 years and has been a liability whenever he plays.

Good riddance Denilson!

What do you think? Do you want Denilson to leave?

Cheers and take care,

That is a very harsh and infantile article. Denilson has a great deal of talent, played some great games for us and scored a few important goals too.

I agree he has been effectively “promoted above his pay-grade” in this Arsenal team, but it is only his development that has been lacking, not his ability.

I expect to see him go on to good things in leagues that better suit his talents. I am also pleased he is leaving, but only because it signals AW’s intent to shed the players that are not performing for him.

And as for the pointless comment “..he doesn’t blame himself or own up..”, when have you looked for a new employer and put on your CV “I was a bad worker and never reached the standard of work my employer expected of me”?

Please use the public arena for intelligent journalism and blogging in future.

Thanks for the critique…. how many games has Denilson played well in? 1,2… maybe 3, the last 3 or 4 years ago. Denilson has nor right to call himself a “winner”, if he was a winner he would’ve shown some guts and heart, and worked his butt off to win games. He’s one of the laziest players I have ever seen, who barely runs and shows guts and heart to give everything he has for the club and to win.

I sincerely don’t believe that Wenger is to be fully blamed for his lack of improvement, he has a ridiculous attitude as displayed by his comments in the article and when he criticised Fabregas, fine, Fabregas isn’t the tough, natural born leader that we need, but Denilson is the last player on the team to criticize him, he has displayed laziness and incompetence all season…. who does he think is to critcize Fabregas in that manner? If it was Van Persie, Wilshere, Nasri, or another top player in the Arsenal squad then I would have accepted it.

Denilson obviously has talent, but his attitude is appalling…. with that attitude, he won’t even make it in the English Second Division (I still remember when he got destroyed by Huddersfield).

I appreciate and respect that you show and display gratitude for him with your praise, but Denilson is a liablity and I’m more than happy he’s going to leave.

Thanks for commenting and take care,

Good.. makes room to Promote a Lansbury or a Frimpong then. I think he has had more than enough opportunity to succeed and failed.

If I had a choice I’d choose Frimpong. He is a natural Makalele/Diara type and shoots from distance.

This is what really happened when Denilson went to see Wegner. He asked Wegner what were his prospects of playing in the First Team next Season,to which Wegner replied, the same as this Season, and to tell you the truth i am struggling to come up with a Squad Number for you. Then Denilson asked, have you had any enquiries from other clubs about my avalibility,to which Wegner replied ‘not a one’.With that it was a little ‘hankerchief job’,then Denilson went to his Agent and between them dreamt up his ridicilious Statement. Now for me ,if the Sun Shines this weekend, then i will have had a very good weekend indeed.

His form has dropped from 2 seasons ago and we`re right letting him leave. But, as some others will agree, he`s has been influetial, particualy 08, when Diarra, Flamz and Gilly left and he`s 18yrs old and holds our MF for long periods of that season. That proved the potential. It`s a shame he hasnt devaloped further or quicker, but that`s pro sport. So don`t be too quick to damn his worth to us.

Well said Weedz, theguy isnt as bad as many people think he is. Do u remeber when Song came and he was conidered the worst transfer? Every Arsenal player is considered good and might one day come and hurt us, just like Pennant and Aliadiere once did…..He made the right choice to leave because most fans are against him. How wll you work somewhere then no one gives a shit of what you are delivering?
