Liverpool Agree £25m Deal For Portuguese Star

According to reports in Correio da Manha, Premier League giants Liverpool have agreed a fee of £25m for Benfica left back Fabio Coentrao.

Kenny Dalgish is set to move for the 23-year old full back who has been linked with a string of high profile clubs across Europe, including Premiership rivals Chelsea and Man City.

Liverpool have made a left back their top priority in the summer and have been linked with Everton’s Leighton Baines, Arsenal’s Gael Clichy and Newcastle’s Jose Enrique in recent months.

However, it looks like we’ve now set our sights on Coentrao with the Portuguese international now being tipped to make a big money move to Anfield this summer.

The bookmakers don’t seem to have caught up with this story yet as they are still offering lengthy odds of 12/1 Coentrao will end up at Liverpool. Those are excellent odds, especially if these reports are accurate, but you can get even better odds by using a Bet365 bonus code before placing your bet.

Nothing has been confirmed by the club as yet, but this rumour is developing quickly, so watch this space!

UPDATE: As pointed out in the comments section, sources are now claiming a deal is in place with Real Madrid for Coentrao. It seems the rumour of a move to Liverpool originated from an old article on Correio de Manha
