The Players I Would Buy If I Was Wenger

This article is not a personal attack on Wenger, this is just an opinion from a Gunner who’s been watching the best leagues in Europe in years, and who believes that these players would be excellent additions for the Gunners.

There has been a lot of speculation about Wenger’s plans of who to buy and such, so I decided to state my opinion of the players I believe should arrive and who would be great additions to the squad.

1. CB- Giorgio Chiellini- Age: 26- Club: Juventus

My dream signing, one of the best defenders in the world. The Italian international is tough as nails, passionate, a fighter, who wants to win at any cost, an excellent leader, great tackler and overall, a top quality defender. Will be a great addition to the squad if Wenger can convince Juventus, to part with their prized asset. His value will be around 15- 25 million pounds.

2. DMF- Alou Diarra- Age: 29- Club: Bordeaux

A player who struggled at the beginning of this career, but has now turned into a beast of a holding midfielder and a regular French international under his former boss Laurent Blanc. One of the best and most underrated players in his position in Europe, he’s tough, commanding, reliable, experienced, excellent tackler and a leader. He’s approaching his thirties and with Bordeaux struggling,  is probably looking for pastures new, he is a monster of a player at 6ft 3in tall, and I believe he’ll be excellent for Arsenal. He has a surprisingly low transfer fee for someone of his quality (around 8 million pounds), so he’ll be a steal for any club who acquires him…. hopefully Arsenal.

3. LMF- Balazs Dzsudzsak- Age: 24- Club: PSV Eindhoven

I know this might sound strange, but I have noticed ever since Robert Pires left Arsenal, that the Gunners have lacked a natural left-footed winger. So for my option and choice for left wing, why not go for PSV Hungarian sensation, Balazs Dzsudzsak. This player has been putting in stunning performances for PSV domestically and continentally, he has scored 24 goals in 42 appearances so far this season which shows that he has a great eye for goal. Balazs is still a young player at the age of 24, he is known for being an excellent dribbler, a good crosser, quick, almost the perfect winger. He was heavily linked last summer to the Gunners and will be on the shortlist of many other big clubs. His value will probably be in the 12-18 million pound range, depending on how much and far PSV want to keep him.

4. CF- Radamel Falcao- Age: 25- Club: FC Porto

Many Arsenal fans are crying out for a top striker and I believe that this Colombian sensation fits the bill. Falcao has been sensational for Porto for the past two seasons, in which he has scored a whopping 69 goals in 82 appearances. He is dynamic, excellent dribbler, has a great eye for goal, consistent, and he’s excellent in the air despite his relatively short height (5ft 91/2 in tall). He’ll be a big target for many European heavyweights if he decides to leave, he won’t come cheap as his transfer value, due to his excellent performances and Porto’s reputation of being tough negotiators, will be in the 20 to 35 million pound range. He’ll be an excellent addition to whichever club acquires him.

Special bonus:

Eden Hazard- Age: 20- Club: Lille

I know a lot of fans, including fellow Gooners would love to see Eden Hazard in an Arsenal shirt. He is simply one of the most gifted and talented young players in the world, and if he continues in this rate, he’ll be one of the best in the world. This player possesses excellent skill, guile, finesse, and poise especially for someone so young. He might be cocky and such, but he’s an exceptional talent nonetheless. His value is around 25 million pounds and over and has recently signed a new contract with his French club, Lille. This however, hasn’t stopped the rumors and speculation surrounding him and Wenger is known for being a huge admirer for Hazard, I’d love to see him as a Gunner.

I know this looks like an expensive list, but with Wenger’s reported budget and the potential sales of fringe players of the squad (Denilson, Bendtner, etc.), then it should be enough.

What do you think? Do you agree with my opinion? Who are your suggested and dream targets? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Cheers and take care,

Omar – http://www.o-posts.net
