So it’s official, Arsenal are the only team to defeat the “Greatest side in history”, after Barca wiped out Man U 3-1 in the final at Wembley. Anyways, concerning the gossip and such, it kind of dried up ever since the last post when it was reported that Arsenal have made a bid for Christopher Samba. Still, there is some interesting news especially concerning Arshavin, so here is the roundup today.

Arshavin staying a Gunner

I believe this is great news, as Russian international Andriy Arshavin, has confirmed that he’s staying a Gunner, after reports of interest from his former club, Zenit St. Petersburg. “Don’t believe the rumors. Everything is good with Arsene Wenger. I’m not going to leave Arsenal.” This statement confirms his intentions of staying a Gunner and honestly, I’m happy he’s staying, he might not have had the best of seasons, but he still is a class player.

I know that some Gooners want Arshavin out, check out this video to refresh your memory of how talented and classy, the Russian maestro is:

Gervinho is wanted by Wenger….. to replace Arshavin?

This is certainly interesting, as the Guardian reports that Lille and Ivory Coast international Gervinho, is wanted by both Arsenal and Liverpool. Wenger is considering bringing in Gervino, if he can sell Arshavin and recoup most of the 15 million pounds he paid for Arshavin. Gervinho is a class player, he has a lot of skill and pace, but I don’t want to see him as a replacement for Arshavin, maybe for Rosicky, but not Arshavin….. he’ll still be a quality acquisition if Wenger decides to sign him.

What do you think? Are you relieved that Arshavin is staying? Do you think that Gervinho is a good buy? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Cheers and take care,

Omar –

arshavin is a good plyer, only sometimes is lazy, he must change not to think something else, he must derminated when he’s playing

Yeah, if Russia qualified to the World Cup, then he probably wouldn’t have lost his motivation. He’s the captain and he felt responsible for costing Russia qualification.

It looks like thought, especially with the way he ended the season, that he’s coming back to his old self and I hope he does.

      Cheers and take care,

Arshavin is a great player playing out of position. Until he is aloud to play just behind the strikers then we will never see another amazing performance from him again. Hes not a winger hense his poor season. Theres is no point keeping him if Wenger does not change his tactics.

Arshavin = Amazing, ok his last season wasnt the best but when he wants to play he can, wenger just needs trust in him, play him and he’ll give you what you want, but if you choose somebody else over him and rest him for ages then his confidence goes down, i mean look at hi goal against Barca, that was touch of beauty and he can do that over and over if you give him the chance.

    @ mark…

arshavin has more appearances than any other player at arsenal. he has been given the chance.

nonetheless there are few better players in the premiership than a motivated arshavin. it’s a shame that such motivation only appears in fits and starts.

Yeah, it’s a shame, hopefully Arshavin can comeback to his own, motivated self.

      Cheers and take care,

Gervinho will be a rubbish replacement for Arshavin in January! when he is in Africa playing at the ACN for 4 weeks!!
Please we need total commitment this year. If we are to spend money, give yourself half a chance and but players that can play for us.
Wenger just needs to realise that in Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri, Bendtner, Eboue and Arshavin we do not actually have any wingers, so stop bloody playing them there. If he really wants to play wingers, Traore, Gibbs and Botelho are far better equipped to play that way. Personally he needs to switch to 4132 giving RVP a proper partner, the 3 can then be all playmakers. I would say Arshavin could then play one of the 3 or even off the big man up front when RVP is injured. Sell Bendtner and Vela get Benzema and Falcao or the cheap option Berbatov and Gameiro or the really cheap option. Cole and Owen

Gervinho isn’t a rubbish player, but I do agree about the January part and participating in the ACN which would be a problem.

To be honest, I don’t think we need two strikers, one would be enough, but we do need a winger especially in my opinion a left footed one like Dzudszak.

      Cheers and take care,

Gervinho is signing for Newcastle, better luck next time Arsenal. I make that two targets that we’ve already took from underneath your noses….

I heard about Cabaye signing for your side or on the verge, but I heard that Gervinho isn’t sure about going, which isn’t surprising as he’s in a club where he gets to play Champions League football.

About Cabaye, yes, Arsenal were interested in him a few years ago, but it has since dried up so he shouldn’t be considered a target and I’m not sure Gervinho will go, but if he does congrats…. he’s an excellent player.

Thanks for commenting and take care,

Arshavin could be a good player but he is just not good enough for arsenal. Gervinho is a class player with lots of skill, I would love to see him at arsenal

Arshavin to stay and pull up his socks, track back when we need him to defend and help the left back out Plus sign Falcau or Gervinho or Huntelaar…Rosicky to go, not the same player since his injury.unfortunately! Always love him though as a Gunner, he had his moments! Denilson should do and we should sign Felipe Melo, absolute Beast! Vertonghen to replace Clichy and then Shay Given and One central defender, we will be brilliant! 🙂

      Couldn’t agree more.
At the end of the season Arshavin did start to roll his socks up, when he came on against Man U was the hardest I’d seen him work all season.
Shame about Rosicky because he was a class player! Although he would still be a good player to have in the squad I believe, I rate him about Diaby, Denilson (luckily Denilson is leaving).
I think Scott Parker ahead of Felipe Melo, Parker is already proven in the Premier League I believe Melo would struggle with the pace of the Premier League just like Aquilani did at Liverpool.
Chris Samba would be an awesome defender and would come at a reasonable ‘Wenger like’ price.

I’m just happy to see Mr. Wenger finally bring out the check book this summer (hopefully!)

Thank god that arsen wenger realizd that he need 2 spend money on buying quality player most especially the mid field we need player like xavi or iniester they are very strong and aggresive in the term of football we dont slogish player and also wenger should encourage the player to be playing shot outside the box 18 not ontill entry into the box 18,i think with this we archieve the best thanks.

arshavin is one of the most tallented players in arsenal, if anyone objects…..he’s an ass.
he just had a bad season but that doesnt suggests that he has no skills, arsenal fans who want him out are just frustrated but they should know that letting the little russian go is a bad idea

gervinho should be signed by wenger but should not come as a replacement for arshavin, rather for denilson or Diane these are rubbish players although i can consider denilson but not diaby.Diaby doesn’t have the body of dribblers yet he is even dribbling more than dribblers and its not favorable to the club, diaby should go instead of denilson plsssssssssssssss
