Tottenham Prospect Want’s To Prove Himself At The Lane

England U21 star Danny Rose is hoping to use the European Champions to secure a future at White Hart Lane. He said:

“The last year has been a little frustrating. I played a bit in pre-season – not as much as I would have liked – and I had to go out on loan at the start of the season to try to get some games.

“I got called back in February and was on the bench a few times but obviously the manager’s given me a chance in the last few matches and hopefully I’ve done enough.

“I’d like to see myself as part of Tottenham’s future, and getting into the midfield you’ve got to be unbelievable, with Luka [Modric], Rafa [van der Vaart] and Gareth.

“Obviously I’m happy for Gareth but I suppose, in a way, what he’s done over the last 18 months hasn’t really done me any favours, so it is a bit frustrating – but I’m very happy for him.

“Gareth and I are the two youngest in the group so we’re quite close anyway. When you think back 18 months ago he wasn’t really in and around the team. For him to be the star man nowadays, it’s inspirational, so you’ve just got to look at that and hope that one day it can happen to you.”

The former Leeds trainee burst on the scene last April with a stunning volley against local rivals Arsenal, Spurs went onto to win the game 2-1 – but, despite becoming an instant colt hero amongst the Spurs faithful Rose has failed to secure regular football first team football.
