Liverpool’s Henderson Deal Backfires

It looks like Sunderland are now in the chase for the talented young English striker Connor Wickham, providing Liverpool with even more competition for the English prospect.

Apparently, following Liverpool’s 20 million signing of Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson, it looks like Sunderland are now intent on signing the Liverpool target with that money. This means that part of Liverpool’s plans have backfired, as they were rumoured to be making Wickham their top priority now.

Liverpool are indeed spending big the summer, with John W. Henry looking happy to fund any transfers necessary for the team to improve in the summer. He has already supported the transfer signings of both Suarez and Andy Carroll alongside new signings this summer such as Henderson, and a relatively lower profile signing, Irish 15 year old Alex O’Hanlon, who has been dubbed the ‘new Gareth Bale’ for his attacking runs down the left flank.

Along with Wickham, Liverpool are also linked with several other players, with the list including M’vila, Sevilla’s Diego Perotti, and many others. So what do you guys think about all this transfer activity? Are these good moves made by Kenny Dalglish? Well, for all that, write your thoughts in the comments section below!
