REPORTS: Chelsea To Bid For Spanish Hitman

Manchester City and Chelsea will file a bid for Barcelona forward David Villa if the club decides to sell the striker to fund a bid for Arsenal ace Cesc Fabregas.

Manchester City and Chelsea will file a bid for Barcelona forward David Villa if the club decides to sell the striker to fund a bid for Arsenal ace Cesc Fabregas.

The former Valencia hit man could be on his way out of the Nou Camp with the Catalans linked with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi and Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.

The three moves could see the La Liga champions spending over £100 million this summer, requiring the club to sell some stars of their own.

Barcelona only signed the Spanish international last summer in a fee around £35million, but Barca boss Pep Guardiola is set to bring in new faces this summer to freshen up his squad.

The 29-year old scored 23 goals last season and wouldn’t be short of suitors with City and Chelsea ready to pounce if the club does decide to sell their star striker.

Barca boss Guardiola is unlikely to want to sell Villa, but the Metro reports that the club only has a transfer kitty of £40million and may be forced to sell their striker in order to fund new recruits.
