Peter Hill-Wood Confirms: Barca Been In Touch But No Bid Yet

Arsenal have confirmed Barcelona have made an official approach to sign club captain Cesc Fabregas.

Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has confirmed the Catalans have made a formal inquiry regarding Fabregas’s availability, but have yet to make an official offer this summer. Hill-Wood told the Sunday Mirror:

“Yes, they have spoken to us about Cesc. They have been in touch. But so far they have not made a bid and we do not want to let him go.

“But he comes from Barcelona so it is understandable if he wanted to go back. However, they have not made an offer so far.”

The 24-year old has already stated his willingness to stay in North London next season and insists he will not submit a transfer request to engineer a move back to Barcelona. Arsenal are holding out for over £45m for their captain, while Barca are unwilling to go beyond £35m.
