ARSENAL TRANSFER NEWS: Bendtner, Clichy, Samba & 3 Signings Imminent

June is almost flying past us and Arsenal have only secured the services of that youngster, Carl Jenkinson. When the month started, the media Vultures concentrated more on player departures than possible arrivals because Arsenal just completed its sixth season without a trophy of sort.

Bendtner brought out a large megaphone, went to the top of Empire State building and screamed out loud that he wants to leave the club because he’s dissatisfied with his new role as a winger. His agent went with his CV and put it up like a wanted list with the bounty for Bendtner’s head starting at £10m so clubs over Europe set their sights on Arsenal’s Great pink boot-wearing Dane. Sevilla, Besiktas, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting CP have approached Arsenal for his services but it seems as if Dortmund has denied claims that they wanted to bid for Bendtner.

Jurgen Klopps side won the Bundesliga last season and the squad has a lot of quality strikers in the form of Lucas Barrios, Shinji Kagawa, Robert Lewandowski and a host of others so a cocky Dane might not be needed in the squad. Wenger hasn’t said anything of getting a new striker so Bendtner can decide to stay if he wants to but with Marouane Chamakh and Carlos Vela still locking horns for the right to be called Robin van Persie’s deputy, Bendtner should try his best to do his talking on the pitch.

No more bloody tales of how he’s meant to be amongst the top five strikers on Planet Earth or how he’s supposed to be playing week in week out. Bendtner’s goals against Man City, Newcastle and Ipswich showed his quality but his error of judgment against Barcelona from that Jack Wilshere pass showed that Bendtner still has a lot to learn.

He has a contract to see out at Arsenal so if no club approaches him this summer, he’ll have no choice but to take a professional approach into next season. Bendtner might not be a fan favorite in Arsenal but his introduction to the squad adds dynamism to Arsenal’s attack. Arsenal is a squad that’s renowned for crisp ground passes but a player like Bendtner makes the squad change its attacking style with crosses to the box because of his aerial prowess.

Blackburn’s Jason Roberts has expressed his concern over the prospect of losing Samba to Arsenal. Samba has already told the Blackburn hierarchy that he wants to leave the club but the Indian suit-wearing chums don’t want to give him up without a fight. As the captain of the club, they expect him to continue leading and rallying the White and Blue striped troops but Samba has given the club so many good years so its high time they let him go to further his career.

There were seasons when all Blackburn’s strikers where plagued by injuries thereby causing Big Sam Allardyce to re-deploy Samba as a center forward and the bulky Congolese did well to score enough goals for the Lancanshire outfit. With news emanating that Man City are trying their best to hijack Cahill from joining Arsenal, Wenger has to double his efforts to seal the deal for the Congolese man although there’s side talk that Arsenal have placed Phil Jagielka as a possible replacement.

Gael Clichy has been a subject of speculation to leave Arsenal for greener pastures elsewhere but Wenger has come out to say that he’ll only favor a move abroad. Clichy has probably weighed his options and has seen that a move to Liverpool will be the best for him in terms of playing time because they don’t really have any household name occupying the left back position.

Fabio Aurelio is the biggest name in the left back position but he visits the club’s treatment table more times than the amount of times Messi checks his mirror to know how the growth formula has worked. The media Vultures say that Clichy is set to clash with Wenger over a move to the 18-time league winners.

If I’m Wenger and Clichy is prepared that far against me to leave for a rival, I’ll bench him throughout next season and buy a new left back so that he could watch the new bloke play week in week out and hope that he’ll get injured someday. Wenger is a manager that tends to buckle when his player puts him under pressure to leave but I truly hope that he takes a stand on this Clichy saga.

Moving over to the headline news of today’s post, the media Vultures have reported that Arsenal will announce the signings of Alvarez, Gervinho and the Chambered Ox on the 1st of July, 2011.

They say that Little Ricky would be the first name to be announced but a website called Ole.com unveiled that the rumors about Ricky Alvarez having signed for Arsenal are untrue! I’ve been very skeptical about this lad joining us from Velez Sarsfield. South Americans don’t thrive to well in the Premier League because of the drastic change in the footballing cultures as well as other factors which include physicality and pace. I’ll keep my fingers crossed about the ‘new Cesc’ as he’s labeled by the media Vultures.
