This been another couple of days of transfer news, speculation, gossip and rumors surrounding the Gunners. There are a some interesting pieces of news, regarding potential transfers. Without further ado, here is the Arsenal Transfer News Roundup.
Arsenal Make Bid For Mata
The biggest headline today which was first reported by TV reports back in Spain, and not by the Daily Mail, who say that they’ve the “Exclusive”. Anyways, the reports are stating that the Gunners have made a bid of around 18 million pounds for Valencia’s Juan Mata. Mata, is an attacking midfielder who plays mostly on the left. He’s a quality player, who has excellent technique, pace, a good crosser and also very skillful. Basically, he’s a quality player and I would be delighted if he were to join the Gunners. This, though, will ignite speculation that one of Fabregas or Nasri will be leaving the club…. hopefully, that’s not the case.
Here’s a video of Mata, displaying his talents last season:
Matuidi Wants To Join the Gunners
A player that’s he been linked, numerous times to sign for the Gunners. Reports are floating around stating that St. Etienne’s Blaise Matudi has told Wenger of his desire to move to the Gunners. The report also states that Wenger is willing to pay 10 million pounds to sign him and not the 13 million pounds, that St. Etienne value the player at. Matudi is a physically imposing defensive midfielder, known for his combativeness and strong tackling. I think he would do well in the Premier League and with the Gunners, but I believe he’s a bit too pricey at 13 million pounds.
Check out this stunning goal that he scored against Bordeaux:
Arsenal Interested In Vidal
In a report by German newspaper, The Bild, they state that the Gunners are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen star, Arturo Vidal. The Chilean international had an excellent season and is interesting many clubs, especially German giants Bayern Munich, who are very keen on acquiring him. He’s valued at 15 million euros by his club. In my opinion, Vidal is a very gifted player, who’s versatile and can play anywhere in midfield, has lots of skills and good movement. But I think, if he’s going to move, it would be to Bayern Munich.
Link to the article, it’s in German, I tried translating it, but it didn’t really work out the way I wanted it to be:
These are excellent players. The only problem is with Wenger. Once it is now in public domain that these players are linked with the gunners, he will relax for the more serious managers to make official bid and get them signed at our expense. Infact, some of us are getting a bit impatient with the Economics prof. Sometimes we are tempted to think that he is not interested in trophies.
AW has continued his stingy attitude in the transfer window. i am tired of all these speculations and i feel sorry for these players who love the team but not liked by AW. no wonder a commentator once said that the arsenal project is solely the handwork of one man-Arsene Wenger.
I think Wenger should stop flattering us and comeout sriously this time to sign a good players cos everybody is tired of him signing signing with mouth without any concrate action we are tired of Baba ijebu let him sign now cos pre-season is here and we need 2 get all our players ready in order let them blend together b/4 d season start.BABA IJEBU WE ARE TIRED.
pls wenger should stop playing with our emotions , get good players or get fired we are tired of talking talking talking we need trophies at the emirate.
I’ve heard that things are made official from July 1st. I hope this is the case and if we sign anyone, they will all be confirmed within first week of July.. Going by the last few years, our summer dealings have been very average if not non-existent. I do really hope arsene signs players we need swiftly, and not wait till deadline day aarrrrrgh. These new players would need time to integrate into team mechanics..
I do not want to have any heart brake, pls AW buy quality players to add to existing young stars. I love Arsenal and hate to see them losing matches they,ve ability to win time and time again.
Wenger has never learnt from history. It’s he replaced veiera and group 4 his survival. Not academy kids plse. We need trophies more than the promises.
our manager is acting like a CEO :))) he sux… Mata is a monster, all around player, perfect replacement for fabregas and a good combination with Gervinho and Alvarez, he needs to sell the overpriced mofos that dont like ARSENAL (Clichi, Cesk , Nasri) and get some new players that would actually like the club
We’re not going to get any of them
Mata says he wants to win something with Valencia
Vidal is propably gonna move to Munich
And matiudi is not good enough
I am really over all the Arsene haters. Don’t like him, then follow another team. Arsene is Arsenal, it was his revolution that brought in the footballing philosophy that we have today. A philosophy that now more than ever aligns with the clubs motto on its crest (look it up if you do not know).
The man cannot control the budget allocated. Yes at times we have been let down in the transfers, particularly when we just fall short of signing key players (Samba in Jan), but I find it hard to believe that this all rests with him.
In the coming years everyone will applaud the Professor for what he has done for the club. When the new FIFA regulations are in place, how many clubs do you think will be in the strong position that Arsenal will find themselves in?
