AGENT: “I Was In London Recently To Meet With A Few Clubs”

The agent of Brazilian defender Lucio has hinted at a move to the Premier League.

The experienced centre half has only a year remaining on his current deal with Inter Milan and his agent suggested that there would be suitors in England.

“I was in London recently to meet with a few clubs, as I think it’s only right for a professional agent to widen his vision to different markets,” Alessandro Lucci told TMW.

“There could be opportunities for Julio Sergio as well as Lucio. There could also be the option of doing nothing.

“I think for the moment Lucio is happy at Inter, but we will evaluate the situation in a little while. It’s premature to talk about that now.”

Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly the clubs interested in the 33-year old.

Arsenal are currently in the market for a central defender but have been heavily linked with moves for Blackburn giant Christopher Samba and Bolton’s class act Gary Cahill. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger isn’t renowned for signing players of such vintage leaving Villa-Boas and Mancini to battle it out for Lucio.

City and Chelsea both boast 4 central defenders, so either club will have to sell if they decide to move for the former Bayern Munich man.
