Nasri Saga Is Wenger’s Own Fault

Reports have recently come up that Sami Nasri is leaving Arsenal Football Club, and that he may be going to 1 of the 2 Manchester Clubs. Honestly I am not that surprised by this news. This is the french-mans recent quote:

“Money has never been my motivation. I have always taken my decisions from a football point of view,”

“I don’t want to sign for a club where I wouldn’t be playing the football that I like, where I wouldn’t feel happy, just for the sake of money. We already earn huge wages. The priority is to make a big career and to win titles. This is more important than everything else. I know the value and the meaning of money.

“With no titles under your belt, you can’t be in the list for the Ballon D’Or. I came to England to get trophies because I haven’t won anything in my career, apart from an Under-17 European Championship in 2004.

“We all need to get out of our comfort zone to grow up and test ourselves.”

Nasri I must admit had been a brilliant player last season. He showed that he can bring his game up to a new level, and that people should not underestimate him.

I had written before that Nasri has all the cards in his pocket, and as the days goes on he becomes more and more influential in this transfer. Let’s look at this logically. If Nasri leaves, it’s a loss for Arsenal. And if Nasri stays without signing a contract, Arsenal commercially lose, unless the French-man agrees to a new contract. I hear he wants 115,000 a week, but the club are offering £90,000. Now I understand that this is an issue in which I feel sorry for the club, but at the same time it is absolutely their fault. Arsenal should have had this Nasri deal tied up in the first month of last season. Wenger has always said that the disappointment of the world-cup would make him stronger, and if he actually believed in this he should have signed Nasri at the beginning of last season.

Apparently, he is now being offered an 110,000 pounds\week. Interesting and possible to believe because of the amount of pressure on the club, as clearly visible in the AST meeting held recently.

BOTTOM LINE

A club who is supposed to be “so brilliantly managed” makes a mistake of offering a contract so late. And then, is apprehensive of offering £20,000 quid more.

I know some things I just don’t buy from the club, and that is the illusion that our manager is going to write a big cheque. So when I hear reports like Arsenal is going to submit a 27 million pound bid for Benzema, I just laugh it off. The manager has broken his silence over transfers, and what he has said does give some hope to us fans.

“We are working very hard on it,” he told Arsenal.com. “For me, the best thing is not to talk too much about it. The more you speak about things, the less chance you have to achieve them. The only thing that I can promise you is that we will work very hard and we have had some long nights to achieve what we want to achieve.

“I can understand [the impatience among the fans]. Believe me, I know all the clubs in the world and everybody needs the same players for the same positions. If there were an obvious choice, people would have already made their decisions. We are at the top level and therefore need exceptional quality to strengthen our side. I can understand that people say ‘you have money, just go out and buy’. But it’s not only that, we want to find the quality we need.

“I have said many times that we were very close to winning things last season, despite the disappointment we had at the end. I hope that provokes a response from my players. We were so close this time we want to come back and achieve it.

“My responsibility is first of all not to lose players and then to add and make us stronger.

“Let’s hope we can bring in one or two more additions of top quality.”

SIDE NOTE : Lets just pray its not LOST HOPE!
