United Line Up Serie A Playmaker As Nasri & Sneijder Deals Go Cold

By on July 18, 2011

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has targeted Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik if deals for Samir Nasri and Wesley Sneijder fail reports Caught Offside.

Fergie has made no secret in his attempt to sign Nasri, but Wenger is adamant the Frenchman won’t be sold this summer despite his contract running out next June.

A deal for Sneijder has gone cold after the Scotsman confirmed there “not even close” to signing the Dutch master, leaving United with a huge void to fill after Paul Scholes retired.

Slovakian international Hamsik is a target for Italian giants AC Milan but a deal has gone quiet recently with reports suggesting Milan are unable to fund the move.

The former Brescia man is yet another playmaker with an inflated price tag with the Naples side placing a €40m (£35.1m) price tag to the talented 23-year old.
