Ferdinand Blasts “Ridiculous” Fans

By on July 16, 2011

Rio Ferdinand is puzzled by fans who want to see Manchester United fail.

United have dominated English football for the past two decades and Ferdinand admits its “ridiculous” to see the negativity surrounding United’s failure to trump Barcelona in last seasons Champions League rather than concentre on the four league title in five years.

“It is ridiculous. It makes me laugh,” the 32 year old England defender said.

“We have won the league four times out of five. Half of it is that people want someone else to win it.

However, Rio admits when he was a fan he held the same opinion.

“Before I came here, Manchester United used to win the league and I would think it would be nice from a fans’ point of view to see someone else putting up a challenge.

“Your heart rules your head sometimes. Not that it bothers me.”
