Tottenham have suffered another pre-season setback after officially announcing that midfielder Sandro has been ruled out for 3 months.
The Brazilian picked up a knee injury while on international duty at the Copa America on Tuesday and it was revealed he had torn tendons in his left knee.
Initial prognosis suggested he would be sidelined for around 1 month, but after undergoing surgery on Friday a statement released on Tottenham’s official website confirmed Sandro is now set to miss 3 months:
“Following consultation with an independent knee specialist, Sandro underwent surgery on his left knee in London this evening (Friday).”
It added: “The specialist has advised a three-month rehabilitation period before a return to full training.”
