3 Reasons Why Liverpool Will Have A Good 2011/12 Season

Liverpool have kept all their star players and they have brought in plenty. Next season can seriously only be better for the Reds after the disastrous 2010-11 campaign. Here are 3 reasons we’ll have a good season next term:

Reason A: The Dalglish Factor

I’m talking about players wise here, not what he brings in terms of enthusiasm to the Anfield faithful. What he does is really unite players as a team. He knows all the players at the club right from his time with the academy, which means he knows even the U16s, to the elite in the team. He brings all of the players together and reminds them one thing: they’re all part of the Liverpool family.

Another thing that he does well is bringing forth players from the academy. John Flanagan and Jack Robinson are good examples, both of them brought into the team by him last year (Robinson had 1 appearance prior to his arrival and Flanagan had nothing). He gives the youngsters a chance, and it’s nice seeing them challenging the seniors for a place in the team, it adds to the performance level as well.

Reason B: We’ve made some good buys

This one is debatable, but I think that Kenny Dalglish has done a good job in the transfer market. Although he hasn’t signed a leftback yet, I am still confident he will address that problem soon. Charlie Adam, as I caught him in action at Bukit Jalil a few days ago now, is fantastic. He is technically good and I’m loving what he brings to the team: long diagonal balls. That will definitely help us switch the play really quickly.

And Downing, in terms of what we need, he answers the problem, as we definitely need someone to cross the ball for Andy Carroll, as although the Englishman was impressive in China, by no means did he impress us Malaysians. He lost the ball on numerous occasions and he lacks in a lot of speed.

Jordan Henderson, I haven’t actually seen much of, but I’ve heard that he’s a great prospect and he can play both in the middle of the park or at right midfield, so he’s got that versatility to him. Alex Doni, I don’t think that it really matters, Reina is still around and even if he was injured, Brad Jones ain’t that bad a second choice.

Reason C: We’ve Kept our Star Players

In January we lost Torres, but we have been quick to replace him with someone better, Luis Suarez. For too long have we struggled with firstly funding and keeping star players, along with replacing them. Xabi Alonso and Mascherano leaving have both been huge blows and we struggled to cope over the past 2 seasons without the duo.

But now Lucas Leiva has stepped up his game and we have a lot of strength in talent and in dept in central midfield with an array of players for Dalglish to select from. Henderson, Adam, Meireles (although he might be leaving), Gerrard, Alberto Aquilani (presuming he stays) and our bald youngsters in Spearing and Jonjo.
