Mihajlovic: Still Time To Sign Aquilani

By on August 2, 2011

Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic remains hopeful over signing Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

The Liverpool midfielder has endured a torrid time since his £20million switch to the Kop back in 2009. The Italian international only made 18 appearances for the club and was immediately loaned out to Juventus.

Juve was hoping to secure the services of the midfielder but the two clubs was unable to agree a fee for the 27-year old, with Liverpool hoping to recoup the majority of the fee spent on the Italian. Aquilani had been linked with Fiorentina in recent weeks but reports suggested a deal had collapsed, but Mihajlovic said:

“Aquilani deal up in smoke? From now until the end of the market there is still plenty of time, let’s not lose hope,” Mihajlovic told La Repubblica.

“The club, myself, and director of sport Pantaleo Corvino have clear ideas and we know exactly what to do.”

If he’s goin stop playing him, and these Italina clubs put their money where that considerable mouths are and cough up the cash.

Or anounce we want him for the next season and he’s not for sale. If anything saying he’s not for sale will get someone going to put their hand in their pocket.

This situation is really really boring now. please stop reporting anything to do with Aquaman until he gone or until the window closes.

The italians won’t pay the amount Liverpool wanted because in reality, he’s not worth that much. My advice is take what you can get and just cut your losses. He’s not worth 20mil 3 years ago, he’s not even worth half that now.

Or you could actually start playing him in the Liverpool midfield.
